Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Rasengani Atelier. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our website and the purchase of our products. By accessing this website or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by the following terms. If you do not accept all of the terms stated here, please refrain from using the site.
Overview
Rasengani Atelier creates and sells sculptural objects including mirrors, lighting, and prints. Many of the works are made to order, one-of-a-kind, or available in limited quantities. Due to the nature of these works, slight variations may occur.
Pricing & Product Availability
All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
While we make every effort to ensure that products listed on our website are available, some works may be sold out, one-off, or available by commission only. We reserve the right to decline or cancel orders for unavailable items.
Payment
We accept payments via Payfast and direct EFTs. Payment must be made in full before any order is processed or shipped. Rasengani Atelier does not store or access your payment information. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
Lead Times & Made-to-Order Works
Many of our pieces are handcrafted to order. Lead times vary depending on the work, typically between 2 to 8 weeks, depending on complexity, materials, and schedule. Custom commissions may require longer timelines. Buyers will be notified of estimated delivery dates upon order confirmation.
Shipping, Delivery & Collection
We offer local and international delivery, as well as the option for buyers to arrange their own collection or shipping.
Courier Delivery
Due to the nature of our products — including fragile and one-of-a-kind works — we use specialised packaging and reputable couriers for both local and international shipments.
Delivery Terms:
-
You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking details once your order is dispatched.
-
International buyers are responsible for all applicable customs duties, VAT, and import taxes.
-
While every effort is made to ensure safe delivery, Rasengani Atelier is not liable for any damage, delay, or loss incurred during shipping. If your order arrives damaged, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt, along with clear photographs. We will assess the case and, where applicable, offer a suitable resolution.
Customer Collection / Self-Arranged Shipping
You may choose to collect your order in person from our Johannesburg studio or arrange your own courier.
-
Collection must be scheduled and confirmed in advance.
-
Once the artwork leaves our premises (either via personal collection or your arranged courier), Rasengani Atelier assumes no liability for loss or damage during transit.
-
It is your responsibility to ensure that third-party couriers are experienced in handling fragile or fine art items.
We are happy to provide basic guidance on recommended transporters for artworks but cannot guarantee their services.
Returns & Refunds
Due to the handcrafted and often custom nature of our works, we do not offer refunds on:
Custom-made or commissioned items
Made-to-order works
Items damaged after delivery
However, if you receive a defective or incorrect product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will assess each case individually and work with you to find a fair resolution. For more, see our full Refund & Returns Policy.

Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. We collect and process personal data in accordance with POPIA (South Africa) and the GDPR (Europe). Please read our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle and protect your information.
Governing Law
